#TempurPerfectMorning: sleep tips from top bloggers

TEMPUR recently held an event in London to showcase how a great night’s sleep and a perfect morning can set you up for whatever the day throws at you.

The select group of bloggers who attended, experienced a morning of rest and relaxation with yoga, a healthy breakfast and expert advice on how to get a great night’s sleep.

However, we also picked up a few nuggets of knowledge from our guests as well – and they share their own tips and tricks for a restful night’s sleep or the perfect morning below…

Lindsay from Ropes of Holland

“A cup of camomile tea 30 minutes before bedtime really helps me get to sleep and I’d also recommend turning your phone off one hour before getting into bed – putting it in night time mode doesn’t count!

“When you get into bed, read something or invest in an adult colouring book which can be super soothing. I also find a face mask a great way of unwinding.”

Gabby from Gabrielegz

“Laugh for a few seconds every morning. It feels really silly when you’re not in a happy mood but that way your day starts with a lighter, happier mood. I don’t do it everyday, but it does help!”

Andreea from Dreaming of Chanel

“Your morning can be that ‘make or break’ time that sets you up for a good or a bad day.

“Having a positive attitude and being thankful will help dictate your mood for the day.

“When you wake up, try to do something that makes you happy – whether it’s listening to music, indulging in your favourite breakfast, taking a relaxing bath or going out for a quick run, make sure you take time and do something just for you.”

Elle from The Elle Next Door

“The thing that completely turned things around for my sleep struggles was shunning reading for hours on end in the hopes of feeling tired and just chilling out with some Netflix.

“I know a lot of experts don’t recommend TV but this was something that totally worked for me. By the end of a 45 minute episode, I’d be slowly nodding off because I was so distracted from the fear of not being able to sleep.
“For you it might be reading, listening to an audiobook, meditation. Find what works for you and sleep like a dream”

Christina from Chrissabella

“Getting ready for bed starts with taking off all my makeup and preparing my skin to repair overnight. During the colder months especially, I also make sure to moisturise my lips before bed.”
