Sleeping in summer temperatures
If you’re familiar with the feeling of waking up hot and grumpy, it may be down to your bedroom.
Fresh air flow is incredibly important for peaceful sleep; so, try to keep a window or two open in your room during the day, even if you’d rather shut them at night. Having a fan in your bedroom during the summer months can also help keep your bedroom cool.

Take time out and relax
With all the excitement summer has to offer, it can be tempting to skimp on sleep to pack more activities in. This isn’t helped by the fact that there are more hours of daylight than usual – which delays the melatonin secretions that cause us to feel tired as the end of the day approaches.
To combat this, you may want to adjust the time you go to bed to ensure you get enough hours of precious sleep. Stick to this time each day to get into a good routine and encourage other family members to do the same.
You should also take enough time to relax, especially during the hottest part of the day. However, take care not to fall asleep in the sun – as this can lead to a nasty sunburn, as well as dizziness and heatstroke. Drink plenty of water and if you feel too hot, try lying in an air-conditioned, darkened bedroom to cool down.
